“Sleepers, wake up from your slumber! Examine your ways and repent and remember your Creator…” – Shofar Blast
This evening begins the observance of Rosh Hashanah or the beginning of the Jewish New Year. These two days are filled with celebrations of the sweetness of life represented by many different foods and prayers. For the next ten days, but especially these two, people are encouraged to reflect on their lives, recognize once again the sovereignty of God, and repent as they refocus on the blessings of life and all it has to offer.
Perhaps we can all take a lesson from Scripture and reflect on how we can live just a little bit better. Reflection might include eliminating those practices that are harmful to ourselves and/or others and replacing them with moments of meditation or even a prayer or inspirational reading.
The opportunities are there, and it’s up to us to take in the sweetness, beauty, and gift of life that a loving God provides.

Praying for you…
